Responsibilities

Summary of Job Profile:

We are looking for an experienced Backend Developer proficient in Laravel and MySQL to maintain and enhance our backend systems. The ideal candidate will focus on improving API performance, adding new features, and fixing bugs while ensuring smooth integration with third-party services and cloud deployments.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and enhance backend API endpoints for seamless functionality.
  • Manage core business logic including orders, users, payments, and notification systems.
  • Write clean, scalable, and maintainable code along with efficient database schemas.
  • Integrate third-party services such as SMS gateways, push notifications, and CRMs.
  • Monitor backend performance and optimize API response times.
  • Handle queue jobs and background processing efficiently.
  • Deploy and manage applications on cloud platforms like AWS or DigitalOcean.
  • Collaborate with frontend and mobile teams to ensure smooth API integration. 
  • Participate in code reviews and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Git and Laravel Horizon.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSA’s) required to successfully perform the job:

  • Strong expertise in Laravel framework and MySQL database management.
  • Proficient in RESTful API development and queue/job handling.
  • Experience with cloud deployment and management (AWS, DigitalOcean).
  • Familiarity with Git version control, CI/CD pipelines, and Laravel Horizon.
  • Ability to write clean, reusable, and well-documented code. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

 

Requirements

Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification required for the position:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field preferred.
  • 3-5 years of experience in the field
  • Laravel and PHP certifications are a plus. 
  • AWS or cloud platform certifications are advantageous.
