Responsibilities
Summary of Job Profile:
The Cyber Security Intern will assist the cybersecurity team in incident handling, patch management, vulnerability assessments, and security hardening tasks. This internship provides hands-on experience in managing cybersecurity tools, supporting security controls, and learning best practices in protecting organizational IT assets.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Assist in running patch management processes on servers, workstations, and desktops under supervision.
- Support vulnerability scanning, identify security issues, and help in creating reports.
- Aid in performing CIS (Center for Internet Security) scans and maintaining related tools.
- Participate in hardening activities by applying security recommendations and configurations.
- Assist in incident handling and ticket management as directed by the SOC team.
- Help in monitoring and supporting security controls based on penetration testing and assessment reports.
- Collaborate with the team to troubleshoot basic security issues and escalate when required.
- Contribute to documentation and follow-ups on cybersecurity assessments and remediation efforts.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities (KSA’s) required to successfully perform the job:
- Basic understanding of cybersecurity principles, including incident response and patch management processes.
- Familiarity with security standards such as CIS benchmarks and vulnerability scanning concepts.
- Ability to interpret security scan results and assist in remediation efforts.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills related to identifying and addressing security vulnerabilities.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills to report findings and collaborate with the team.
Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification required for the position:
- Recently completed a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cyber Security, or related field.
- Eagerness to learn and develop practical skills in cybersecurity operations.

1. Fundamental knowledge of vulnerability assessment and management tools
2. Exposure to patch deployment methodologies
3. Understanding of security hardening practices, including configuration management and GPO adjustments
